Tru64 Managers,

We are running a number of alpha based Tru64 machines here at the U. On
an older machine running 4.0E we recently started seeing these errors
when running authck -p -v

finding all entries in the local Protected Password database,
/tcb/files/auth.db finding all entries in the local Protected Password
database, /var/tcb/files/auth.db Checking format of files in Protected
Password database /tcb/files/auth Format of all Protected Password
entries OK Checking Protected Password against getprpwent()
 appears in Protected Password database but cannot be retrieved
        with getprpwent()
Checking Protected Password against /etc/passwd
 not listed in /etc/passwd, but is in the Protected Password database.
Checking Protected Password fields against those in /etc/passwd
Checking internal consistency of Protected Password fields

An edauth -g lists all our users but then at the end reports:
Error during write of entry named ""

Is there any way to remove this blank entry to clean up the database?

Thanks
