Automatically encrypting a file and sending via ftp

Hello TruGurus,


Does anybody know/have a script that would do the following:


Encypt a file(regular text file) and send(do a put) via ftp.

NOTE:
vi encrypts files but I can't get it to take input from <<'s. Which
means that I can only encrypt files manually but not through a script.


Any ideas?
