Monitor problems

Hello list members,

We recently started to have problems with the monitor of one of our
Alphastation 500/400 's (monitor model VRT17-W3). The screen is currently
shaking up and down with a fair frequency over a length of a few mm's.

Is this certainly monitor (CRT-tube) related or could it be caused by a
faulty graphics card? I will try to figure out what the reason is by
exchanging this monitor with one from another Alphastation (also a
VRT17-W3). Should I shutdown both machines or can I exchange them while
running?

Thanks a lot in advance (also for reading this OT question).
