I am trying to send an MS-Word (xx.doc) file as an attachment using
dtmail.
When the mail is received on a Windows system the attachment is OK but
the name of the file will be xx.doc.dat. To get Word to recognize it
I need to save it and rename it.
In general dtmail seems to have problem to transfer the name of the
attachment. Other mailers that I have (pine and netscape) do not
behave like this.
I did also try dtmail on a Solaris system and that did also work
properly.
The Solaris dtmail coded the attachment content as
Content-Type: APPLICATION/octet-stream; name="xx.doc"
wheras Tru64 produces
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
I find no other significant differences.
Can anyone spred some light here?
