Thanks to Hannes Wenzel for an explantion: I had only one answer:

Hi,
this date is the guarantee of compaq that the batteries will work. the
batteries will still work after this time. if the batteries will fail, the
controller automatically disables writeback cache. so you can be sure that
no data lose will occur.

My original question was:
>Hi Menagers.
>I use RA8000 (HSZ80) in a dual-redundant configuration, raid 0+1.
>The units have set writeback_cache. Batteries from ECB module will expire on 10'th march.
>So, I have few questions:
>What will become of batteries after date of expiration ?
>May it be cause of problems with cache, raidsets or units using write-back cache ?
>If yes, how to prevent from data lose ?
>Should I disable write-back cache or set the subsystem to use an external UPS ?.
>It wiil be temporary solution, because the ECBs will be delevered soon (two weeks).
