Please help ,you will see from this e-mail that IM very new to Tru64.
My problem:
I have to create an identical machine from one of our live systems which was
administered by a Unix admin guy who as now left the company.
So for I have been able to install the operating system to the new box
(commands)
select SHELL from install CD
cd /dev
./MAKEDEV rz8
disklabel -r rz8
disklabel -wr rz8 gary
disklabel -r rz8 > /tmp/rz8label
vi /tmp/rz8label ( cloned this label to be the same as the live system
disk, as all the equipment is like for like)
disklabel -R -r -t advfs rz8 /tmp/rz8label gary
made the tape device
cd /etc/fdmns
mkfdmn -i 2048 /dev/rz8a newroot_domain
mkfset newroot_domain root
mfs -s 204800 /tmp
mkdir /tmp/newroot
mount newroot_domainroot .tmp/newroot
cd /tmp/newroot
vrestore (from backup) -xvf /dev/nrmt0h
No problems
But I also have 5 more disks which need to be lsm as lsm is used on the live
machine
what commands do I use to make the system see the other 5 disks which as I
said earlier are 1 bid strip set using lsm
info from the live box
# df -k
