networking interface problems.

Hi admins,

This concerns a new DS20e.
Just installed Tru64 5.1a, no problems. But I can't seem to get the
networking configured correctly.
The ethernet controller used is a NC3131 FastEthernet NIC, (64 pci, dual
based, 10/100)
The systems sees the card fine. There is an ee0 and ee1 device. Once
started, both of them give this error:

transmit timeout (scbsts=00000010, mask=00000c00)

I only have to configure once of the interfaces. Once stopped ee1, no errors
anymore on that one.
I installed the RJ-45 loop-back plug in the unused 10/100TX port.
The switchport is configured 10/half. I tried lan_config -a 0
(autonegotiating enabled) It claims to be running 100MB full. I tried
lan_config -s 10 -x 0, it says 10MB/half but still I'm unable to ping any
address (except localhost). I keep getting the error above!

Any ideas on this?
Thanks in advance, all hints would be appreciated.
