I'm near my wits end and need another viewpoint to ferret the solution to
this problem out.
I have a script which e-mails/pages when certain criteria are met. The
problem is that one (and just one) of the addresses keeps getting returned
with an "SMTP Error Code 501." The address is for a pager -
3038511188_at_Page.Metrocall.com
To complicate the matter, all other e-mails - including addresses to/for
other pagers - work just fine. Additionally, when I use out local Notes
Server to send to this address the page is received just fine. It also
works from other mail servers (Hotmail, Yahoo, etc) and from my local Linux
workstation. However, from our Tru64 systems (one v4.0F and the other
v5.1) we get the mail returned with the "SMTP Error Code 501". I tried
setting up a GROUP e-mail on Notes and using that address on the Tru64
systems and I still get the returned mail. We e-mail a number of pagers
from both systems without any problem. This is the only pager/address we
are having this problem with.
Any/all suggestions are welcome.
TIA - dwb
