Hello...

Are there some detailed procedures somewhere on how to migrate tru64
enhanced (shadow) security password file(s) -- nis configuration -- to a
base security level and then use that password file on Linux?

Would running secconfig and selecting BASE on the NIS master server put
the passwords into /var/yp/src/passwd? If so, are passwords maintained AND
can I use those same passwords on a linux distro?

Or - should I run nissetup on the master to remove NIS support first?
If I do that, will user entries will be moved to /var/tcb/files/auth.db? If so,
will running secconfig then put back a popluated /etc/passwd that I can then
move to linux (again - will passwords be retained after conversion from
enhanced security to base AND usable on linux)?

Thanks for the info you can pass along!
