Hi all,
THis is further to my query related to Hetrogeneous SAN, I have identified another problem related to existing configuration of:
1) 2 Nos. of Alphaservers (8200) on Digital Unix 4.0E with ASE using external Storage SW800 (HSZ50).
2) UFS Filesystem
3) Oracle Database 7.3.4 and 8i
Now I have to reconfigure the whole setup in following manner:
1) Same Alphaservers (8200) with dual MC controller, dual Fibre Channel Controller for EMA12000 Storage (Dual HSG80) on
Tru64Unix 5.1A, TruCluster5.1A.
2) AdvFS Filesystem
3) Oracle Database 7.3.4 & 8i
Presently Tape drive in use is 20/40GB single DLT. The Database size is approx 100GB. I have just 2 days of weekend to switchover.
Now my worry is that if I take dump backup of all the existing UFS partition, will not help in restoring the same on TruCluster environment with AdvFS. Tar is not that reliable to take backup of big database files. Site is live so any unreliable step could be disastrous.
Could you please suggest me the easiest way for this migration from 4.0E UFS to 5.1A Advfs.
Thanks & best regards.
Vimal
