Hello,

Thanks to responses from Ann Majeske, Compaq, and Joe Senulis the matter
was resolved.

In short, usernames should be only in one authentication database, the
LOCAL or the NIS.
edauth -Lg shows local users, while edauth -Ng shows the NIS users.

Removing all duplications of NIS users in the local database (edauth
-L-r username) on the master and clients solved the inconsistencies
causing my problems.

Afterall, NIS for a 'limited' number of users works fine with C2. In my
experience, the question
in secsetup asking for local copies of NIS clients should be answered
no, that is what got me in in the first place. The implication of the
question was not clear to me.

Thanks to all who rsponded

Gerfried
