Oracle Patches

Has anyone else had to deal with Oracle patches compressed in .zip
format? I've read that gunzip can be used to uncompress them, but that
doesn't seem to work. I get the following message from "gunzip -S .zip
{file}" :

gunzip: {file}.zip has more than one entry -- unchanged

Any ideas?
