Hi,

I am trying to install Tru64 Hobbyist license
on a PC164 based machine. I updated the ARC firmware
to SRM firmware version v5.5 which went fine.

Then I proceeded to install Tru64 UNIX version 5.0 on this system. And then I
received the following error message:

panic (cpu0): vfs_mountroot: cannot mount root
syncing disks... done

DUMP: WIll attempt to compress 23101440 bytes of dump
: into 224362480 bytes of memory
DUMP: Dump to 0x20005: ...:End 0x20005
succeeded

CP - SAVE_TERM routine to be called
CP - SAVE_TERM exited with hlt_req = 1, r0 = 00000000.00000000

halted CPU 0

halt code = 5
HALT instruction executed
PC = ffffffff002442f0

I'm not sure what the problem might be, but I was suspecting the
hard drive might not be configured properly. Th

The system is an old PC164 Alpha 433 mhz system with 256 MB of RAM
and 256MByte of memory with a 2GB hard disk. The SCSI controller is
an NCR 53C810 SCSI controller.

Any suggestions, help or pointers in the right direction would be
most appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Chris
