DS10 System Mysteriously Hangs

I have an Alphaserver DS 10 running 4.0f. A couple of times I've
come in to find the system hung. It is unresponsive to network login
attempts and switching to the concole (on a KVM (monitor only)) is
blank.

Looking at the syslog it appears to just stop. In
/var/adm/syslog.dated/ I have a session from April 5 and today.
Looking at the April 5 logs shows nothing. Looking in
/var/adm/messages I have:

Apr 3 17:29:29 fred vmunix: i2c: Server Management Hardware Present
Apr 3 17:29:32 fred vmunix: chk_bf_quota: group quota underflow for group 7 on
fileset /
Apr 3 17:29:32 fred vmunix: Environmental Monitoring Subsystem Configured.
Apr 8 09:41:17 fred vmunix: Alpha boot: available memory from
0x18c8000 to 0x3f
f3a000
Apr 8 09:41:17 fred vmunix: Digital UNIX V4.0F (Rev. 1229); Thu Aug
16 09:01:5
0 CDT 2001

(With April 3 being the last reboot).

Any ideas? It appears to do this every couple of weeks.

thanks,
James
