telnet to localhost

every time to telnet to localhost , I get this problem

#telnet localhost
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
any idea ?

PS: Telnet work with name the machine telnet abc.aaa.com ...it is ok but not
working if I use "localhost"
