Hi all,
I recently posted a question about boot problems with an Alphastation
500/500. It has been fixed by replacing the motherboard+CPU.
Since the change we have problems with the network.
Downloading goes without problems, but uploads are really slow.
The following actions were performed while logged in on the offending
workstation (wsA) with some directories of a workstation wsB mounted via
NFS (/wsBdir).
- When I ftp a file from wsA to wsB it goes really slow (~1 KBps)
- When I ftp a file from wsB to wsA it goes at normal speed (1 MBps)
- When I copy a file from ~ to /wsBdir it times out
'cp file : Connection time out'
with a message in /var/adm/messages:
wsA vmunix: NFS3 RFS3_WRITE failed for server wsB: RPC: Timed out
wsA vmunix: NFS3 write error 60 on host wsB
- When I copy a file from /wsBdir to ~ it goes at normal speed
- The output for 'ifconfig -a' is exactly the same as for our other
workstations:
tu0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>
inet xxx.xxx.6.4 netmask ffff0000 broadcast xxx.xxx.255.255 ipmtu 1500
sl0: flags=10<POINTOPOINT>
lo0: flags=100c89<UP,LOOPBACK,NOARP,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX,NOCHECKSUM>
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 ipmtu 4096
What could be the problem? Any help will be appreciated!
Ben
