kde 3.0 sound server

i know this is probably an off-list subject... but has anyone gotten KDE
3.0 or 2.2 under Tru64 5.x running with sound?

my sound is working through other non-kde apps but i cant get kde to use mme
sound server?

is there a way to redirect artsd sound server requests to mmeserver?
