Remote connections to LPD problems

Hello,

I wanted to share a printer connected to an alphaserver with tru64 unix
5.1, for what I put both on /etc/hosts.equiv and /etc/hosts.lpd the
hostnames of the allowed clients. Every name there is properly set also on
/etc/hosts. Now from one of those hosts (a redhat linux 7.2) I configured a
remote printer pointing to my alphaserver but it doesn't print.

I tried to debug the problem on the alphaserver with the option -l of
lpd to leave a log of connections but lpd doesn't write a log. I tried:
"/usr/lbin/lpd -l /tmp/log.lpd" but /tmp/log.lpd was never written. To
ensure that lpd indeed receive a connection I did a telnet to the port 515
of my alphaserver and the log was not written. I tried also from others
computers and nothing happens. Anybody knows what might be provoking this
problem?

Thanks in advance,
