Upgrading from HSZ80 to HSG80

Hi :
I have two GS140 runing UNIX 4.0G and Trucluster ASE V1.6 .The shared disks are on two HSZ80 controller and i want to replace them by the HSG80 controllers . Can i preserve the data that are on the disks or i have to backup/restore DATA .
