Thanks to all who replied.

It looks like the TLZ09 is working as designed. The files I was backing up
were already compressed so the tape drive was unable to compress them
further.

I was under the impression that the TLZ09 would backup 8gig of compressed
data.

Original question:

I have a TLZ09 on a machine running 5.1a pk1 and I can only backup 4gig of
data to it. I am using a 120m tape with the following command vdump -0uf
/dev/tape/tape0_d1 /stage. Stage is a Advfs 4gig volume and it gets 89%
complete and I get the following error:

vdump: Change Tapes: Mount tape# 0002

Am I using the right device (tape0_d1)? Am I also right the TLZ09 supports
8gig compressed? I checked the jumper on the drive and it is set to
compression enabled.

I have also tried vdump -0 -u -C -f /dev/tape/tape0_d1 /stage and I get the
same error.
