Seg fault - uerf

Hi Managers,

        Sys: Compaq Alpha DS10, Tru64 5.1

I have read that:
uerf is no longer supported on newer machines like the ES45
Instead use CompaqAnalyze (ca(8) which is part of WEBES

I found an error on the console this morning and wanted to
investigate more. I did `uerf -c err -o brief -R | more` and paged
down a few times and uerf did: Segmentation fault (core dumped).

If I do`uerf -c oper -o brief -R | more` I get:
Error reading syserr file.

I wasn't sure if my system should still be supporting uerf, does
anyone know?

I have also been getting a "S97evm: Communication with binlogd is
not functioning" at boot time and was wondering if this is related?

I had put this down to the fact that there wasn't a link in rc3.d to
/sbin/init.d/binlog before the evm starts. binlogd wasn't running at all
but I could write to the binary.errlog using logger -b testing.

I am tring to cut down on un-necessary processes but don't want to
lose valuable system info. Should binlogd be running?

Thanx.
Dp.
