All gave excellent advice, but I want to point out the
benefits of LSM as
described by Alan
==============================
alan_at_nabeth.cxo.cpqcorp.net
The main value that LSM brings to such a
configuration is
the ability to mirror across multiple I/O subsystems.
That
removes a particular I/O subsystem as being a single
point
of failure. With only the HSZ50 subsystem, that's
not a
useful option. If I/O load is an issue (as opposed
to
I/O availability), then you should create a 2nd or
even
3rd Mirror on the HSZ50 and use LSM to stripe the
data
among units. This may be useful if you have a pair
of
redundant controllers and distribute the load among
the
pair. It would probably take a benchmark to be find
out
for sure if LSM striping is a benefit over controller
striping.
