how do I make hwautoconfig ignore a device?

Hi,

I'm running Tru64 5.1A and coming back to Tru64 from managing 4.0
systems a few years ago. 5.x seems to have a very complicated device
management scheme which has me confused -- especially the
hwautoconfig kernel module which is loaded by default from
autosysconfig.

I have a device which I would greatly prefer to have loaded much later
in the boot process than the point at which hwautoconfig is loaded.
How do I make hwautoconfig not load this particular driver, short of
removing hwautoconfig from the autosysconfig list?

hwautoconfig seems to be totally undocumented. strings on the module
don't seem to help much either.

Thank you,

Drew
