Thanks to Chris Bryant, Tim Cutts, Kjell Andresen who responded to my
query about using 'screen' on Tru64 5.1A. The solution was to use the
latest version 3.9.11.

Thanks

Paul

I've had no trouble with it, running on an ES45 with 5.1A, but I'm
running a much older version of screen:

Screen version 3.09.09 (FAU) 25-May-01
