kill runaway telnetd processes

Hi all,

In my system (GS60 Tru5.1A) there are many runaway telnetd processes like this:
ps -ef | grep telnetd
 root 793052 525204 0.0 12:51:08 ?? 0:00.08 telnetd
 root 795468 525204 0.0 13:07:41 ?? 0:00.03 telnetd

Can I safely kill those processes?
