SYN flooding prevention?

A machine on our network (Linux) was recently attacked with a SYN flood
DoS. Anticipating that a similar attack might be mounted on my Tru64 Unix
box, I'm wondering what I should do, if anything, to help protect myself
from such an attack. Does Tru64 have any kind of "SYN cookie" feature
similar to that of Linux?

I'm running Tru64 v5.1A, well patched.
