Hi again managers,
As I can't reboot this server often it has taken a while to test some of the suggestions.
I have tried the following.
>From Pat O'Brien, use the 'hard' option:
server:/usr2/images /usr7/dir nfs rw,bg,intr,hard 0 0
>From Peyton Bland, specify the ip address:
194.200.xxx.xxx:/usr2/images /usr7/dir nfs rw,bg 0 0
>From Simon Millard, George Gallen, Alan and Oisin McGuinness:
I have made the link in /sbin/rc.d/ to the next available number after inet is loaded
and made the mount appear earlier in the fstab.
Unfortunately still the system will not mount the disks at boot time.
Below is the messages file - the system mounts the local disks long before NFS or
inetd is started. Is this something to do with sysconfigtab? A copy of the current
/etc/fstab is below as well. What puzzles me is that there is no error message as the
local disks are being mounted. I don't think the fstab is being used at all.
Thanx.
Dp.

Hi Managers,
ADVFS on tru64 5.01
I want to have a remote volume mounted at startup but the system seemsto
ignore it. I have it entered in the fstab; /usr2/images_at_server
/usr7/dir nfs ro,bg 0 0
yet after every reboot the volume isn't mount and i have to mount it
manually. I have tried /usr2/images_at_server and server:/usr2/images
neither seem to work. I don't see any errors when the system is
booting either. What am I missing? Thanx. Dp.
