ttsession crashes

When I try to logon as any user, the machine freezes for a long period of
time before informing me that DT messaging has failed to load & then
promptly exits me back to the CDE login screen.

Upon investigation, I discovered that DT messaging (aka
/usr/dt/bin/ttsession) is called within the Xsession script. When I try to
manually execute it from the command line, I receive no error messages, even
though it still dies.

Does anybody know how to get more debugging info from ttsession? Or better
yet, does anybody know what's wrong?

I'm using TRU64 4.0F P6. I doublechecked my /etc/hosts file, and I do
indeed have an entry for localhost & for `hostname`. I can also ping both
hosts.
