syslogd stops collecting info

Greetings,

syslog files have stopped getting updates. I realized
that after receiving nothing via email from syslog
files...which is usually plenty.

/usr/sbin/syslogd is running!! I can stop it and start
it via /sbin/init.d/syslog (stop|start), and it would
start collecting info and stop after about 5-10mins or
so.....but the daemon doesn't die!!

To enable it to collect info again, i have to kill it
and restart, and same problem occurs after a short
while.

Any pointers??

Running v4.0G pk#3, all recent patches applied. I just
started noting this problem this morning....no changes
that i am aware of.

_Thanks

Richard
