Tape Library Recommendation Required

I've decided to review our backup and recovery process and am looking for
some help...

My requirements are:

1) Must be able to backup/recover 0.5 TB of data in less than 6 hours.
2) Must be scaleable up to 1.0 TB of data to be backed up/recovered in less
then 6 hours.
3) Must be future proof (the next 3-5 years)

Are these figures achievable? Can they be improved upon?
What management software would be recommended?
Are there any specific configurations that might speed up our existing tape
drives (larger block size etc)?

Currently using an Alphaserver 4100 (4cpu), Tru64 5.1 and RAID (HSZ450 (?))

Thanks in advance.

Mat.
