upgrading a kgpsa-ca hba in a as4100

upgrading kgpsa from 381a4 to 382a1firmware. system srm 6.2. tru64 5.1
pk5.
performed a upgrade fine through alphabios. then tried to boot system.
system crashes mid boot with mem trap while scaning busses, though several
cards after find the kgpsa controller. any ideas greatly appreciated.
