[SUMMARY] Running dupatch on multiple ERPs

Thanks to Charles Ballowe (CBallowe_at_usg.com) for the tip that I couldn't combine all of the security patches into one directory. In his words, "it failed miserably."

I contacted HP Support about this, and they mentioned that it "should be" possible to run multiple dupatches before doing the "roll" stage in the cluster upgrade, but they had no documentation specifically saying that it was so. I went ahead and tried it on my test ES40 cluster, and was successful in running installupdate, PK3 dupatch, and 3 ERP dupatches before rolling the other node. The cluster came up on 5.1A with all of the latest patches, and my security group, DBA group, and application group were all very happy people.

Greetings,

I'm looking at punching out a bunch of upgrades from 5.1 to 5.1A in the next two weeks. As part of it, I am going to roll in all of the pertinent Early Release Patches that HP has sent out after PK3 is installed. Is it possible to untar all of the ERP's into one directory, and run dupatch from there to roll all of those patches in at once? Or is it required to do one ERP kit at a time?

I've only installed them one at a time in the past, since that's how the distribution comes out.

Thanks in advance,
