Subject: booting problems on an ES40
Hello Managers, happy new year!
We have an ES40 running Tru64 4.0F.
I've been trying to boot this machine from CDROM - without success.
The machine doesn't boot from CDROM, Floppy and the generic kernel
"genvmunix", the only way to boot it up is the customize kernel.
When I power on the machine it goes to the SRM console without any problem.
When I try to boot the CDROM, or the generic kernel, the following occurs:
P00>>>boot -fi genvmunix -fl s
(boot dra0.0.0.4.1 -file genvmunix -flags s)
block 0 of dra0.0.0.4.1 is a valid boot block
reading 16 blocks from dra0.0.0.4.1
bootstrap code read in
base = 200000, image_start = 0, image_bytes = 2000(8192)
initializing HWRPB at 2000
initializing page table at 3fb56000
initializing machine state
setting affinity to the primary CPU
jumping to bootstrap code
That's it nothing more happens!
There is one thing I've changed: I've removed the graphics card and changed
the console from graphics to serial.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you very much!
