Can anyone tell me why I would get this message during a reboot?
The hardware is DS20.
can't open /tmp/it/it.item
This was followed by a lot of "respawning too rapidly" messages,
which continued forever.
The install had gone fine and rebooted, and I then did the
following:
Modified /etc/inittab and uncommented all of the ttys (I later tried the
inittab.dist and it still wouldn't boot, so I don't think this was it)
Edited fstab to put in the new disk names and remove swap spaces.
Everything mounted up OK.
Added second swap space to sysconfigtab. Activated and checked swap, no
problems.
Put my old .rhosts file back
Loaded my licenses back from the ldb file. They reset and came up OK.
Copied, from the files saved from 4.0f:
/etc/hosts
/etc/routes
/etc/sqservices
bootptab
passwd
printcap
resolv.conf (also edited svc.conf for hosts=local,bind)
The entire spool directory
A file in /sbin/init.d that activates LAT devices
Did mopsetup to configure, copied mop_client_db, *eng* *ENG* back to
/var/dna and mopsetup to start mop.
I then rebooted and it never came back. Put the above message on the
console.
I don't have any way to run the console, I'm strictly remote here, from a
network connection.
Any ideas?
thanks
