username length

   Hello,
    Iam using Tru65 OS Version v5.1a.(Patch level 2)
    I have a question regarding the username.
    What is the maximum length of username? I have a username
    which is having 12 characters. I thought that with OS version 5.x I can
have
   a username with maximum lenght of 32 characters.
     Is it possible to use long username?
