Good afternoon:
I ran mailconfig, configure an Tru64 as a mail Client. After entering a mail
server name and clinking "Commit", mailconfig could not restart the mail
server. I entered command "# /sbin/rc3.d/S40sendmail start", a similar error
message shows up:
Could not start SMTP Mail Service, Run level must be S.
I cd to directory /var/run, I found a file sendmail.pid which creation time
is about the last time I tried to restart sendmail. Its content does not
show a pid:
/usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -q15m -om 2
O/S: Tru64 V4.0E, Alpha 4100
