I'm attempting to set up a Tru64 V5.1A system to be able to download a
DECserver 700.
I've got the bootp portion (apparently) working, but the tftp download
consistently fails with:
Local -955- [IP] Host xxx.xxx.10.100 located [ETHERNET]
Local -903- [IP] Loading from host xxx.xxx.10.100
Local -962- [IP] TFTP Error message received, code: 02
Access violation
I have the boot files in /tftpboot, and configured tftp thusly in
inetd.conf:
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/tftpd tftpd -d -r
/tftpboot /tftpboot
>From another host on the network I can do
tftp xxx.xxx.10.100 -get wweng2.sys
or
tftp xxx.xxx.10.100 -get /tftpboot/wweng2.sys
successfully.
I'm thinking the '700 is specifying some odd path (regardless of what I put
in bootptab), but I get no log messages to indicate what it's looking for.
tftp logs successful transfers in daemon.log, but I get absolutely nothing
for the failed attempts.
The bootptab entry is
ds700test:ht=ethernet:ha=08-00-2b-be-61-ae:\
:bf=wweng2.sys:bs=1156:\
:sm=255.255.0.0:\
:ip=xxx.xxx.10.253:
Does anyone have this working who could give me some pointers? Thanks.

"I quite agree with you," said the Duchess; "and the moral of
that is -- `Be what you would seem to be' -- or, if you'd like
it put more simply -- `Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise
than what it might appear to others that what you were or might
have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have
appeared to them to be otherwise.'" -- Lewis Carrol, "Alice in Wonderland"
