Many thanks to Dr Tom Blinn and Johan Brusche,
There are some good reasons to preserve the original cluster creation
disk from the standalone system, but if you choose to re-use it, then
you should remove the domain entries from /etc/fdmns since there are
things both in the kernel and in user space that can get confused by
domain definitions in that directory that point to disks that don't
have the domains implied by the entries.

You can safely remove these dirs and links in /etc/fdmns.
Note: You should consider making a backup of these, it greatly
reduces the time required to reconstruct your cluster in case of
disaster.
