PARTIAL SUMMARY: FDDI card problem

With tanks to Mr.Blinn who mentioned:
"If it's a problem with the firmware in the FDDI card and there
is an update, the update would be (I believe) applied by doing
a firmware update on the system, that is, update the SRM from
the more up to date firmware update media...."

He also pointed to the right choice of the Firmware version.
As he said "...update to a version that's been tested with V4.0F".

He told me another potential responsible for this error:
"The symptoms could also be a result of whatever the fibre goes
to in your network -- if you've got a flaky fibre router, for
example, it could cause these same problems. Don't assume that
just because they are being reported in the UNIX system that
they are a fault in the UNIX system, they may just be reports
of problems on the backbone network."
