sh: <some_pid> Resources lost

Managers,

I have a three node cluster running Tru64 5.1a PK3. One of the members
is a GS80 with 4 CPU's and 4GB of memory. I have a user tying to run a gmake
and getting this error whenever it tries to link:

sh: <some_pid> Resources lost

Then it continues on and fails later when it can't reference the link that
failed.

There is NO shortage of resources on this machine, so I have to assume it's
an "sh" resource problem.

Any ideas?

UNIX is very user friendly, It's just very particular about who it makes
friends with.
