many thanks to all who replied to loader error problems I had with one
application. see question below.
special to Alan Rollow, Oisin McGuinness, Charles Ballowe, Thomas
Sjolshagen.
the fix was to run dxkerneltuner and reset proc variables. there were
two that required more than the max; I set these to 0 per the
sys_attrs_proc(5) man pages which said that system doesn't check if you
set value to 0.
thanks again, everyone!
*************snip question***********************************
Managers,
being somewhat new to true64, I'm submitting the question below.
I'm running an application that reports memory errors when the
program
is launched.
here's the error:
*************************
/sbin/loader: Fatal Error: Insufficient memory to execute program.
Total amount of memory limited for one program (128 MB) is lower
than
the total minimal amount of memory and swap (1256 MB) required.
**************************
since I have 4g of physical RAM and 2g of swap on the system and
there
are no other programs running; I'm thinking that there may be a
variable
I can set in sysconfigtab.
if I check my limits with the 'limit' command; here's what I see:
>limit
cputime 0:0-1
filesize 0 kbytes
datasize 131072 kbytes
stacksize 8192 kbytes
coredumpsize 0 kbytes
memoryuse 2041032 kbytes
descriptors 4096
it looks the system default limits are inadequate for the program
to
launch successfully.
does anyone knows what variables I can set in sysconfigtab to
override
the above system defaults?
I will be grateful.
thank you.
