Problems with scp between Solaris and Tru64.

I've also a Dec Alpha (Personal Workstation 600a) running Tru64 5.1B.
I also have a Sun Ultra 80 running Solaris 9, with Sun's ssh
implementation, which is based on OpenSSH.

I've set up ssh on both ends with no passphrase. I can connect from
the Sun to the Alpha via ssh with no problems. I can also transfer
files from the Sun to the Alpha via sftp. However, any attempt to copy
a file to the Alpha with scp from the Sun causes this response on the
Sun.

[Sun] % scp -v atlc-4.3.0.tar.gz davek_at_dobermann:/tmp
Executing: program /usr/bin/ssh host dobermann, user davek, command
scp -v -t /tmp
scp: warning: Executing scp1 compatibility.
scp: FATAL: Executing ssh1 in compatibility mode failed (Check that
scp1 is in your PATH).
lost connection

There is no scp1, or scp2 on the Sun, only scp. But neither is there
ssh1 or ssh2, or sftp1 or sftp2.

Someone on a newsgroup suggested removing Tru64's ssh and replacing it
with OpenSSH. Since all my other systems run OpenSSH, that might not
be such a stupid idea, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Any thoughts ??
