How do I access a X11 font server on another node?

This is probably a simple question...

I need to set up a Tru64 workstation (V5.0) to access fonts on a HP-UX
server.

I think the command I need to run is "# xset fp <font-path>".
It was suggested to me that the command should be "# xset fp
<hostname>:7000" because the HP-UX server runs "xfs" on port 7000.

Whatever I try all I am getting from xset is:

xset: bad font path element (#41), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
    Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax

I would assume that the last possibility is my problem, but I cannot find
any examples of a "correct" server address.

Can anyone help?
