SUMMARY: how to send printer esape codes ..?

Hi managers,

this is a very old and late summary but time potspones this up to now.. so
excuse me..
Only Colin Bull helped me .. (really thanks..)
He suggested send the data directly printer, without spool system. (cat
fileName > prnDevice) this did not work either

we are using a switchbox to convert RS423 DEC signalling to DFX5000+
parallel port signals. But this device is designed for DEC printers and it
prevents other esc codes to pass to printer.. so I think this was the
problem..
this is just a thought, because i have no other way to connect epson printer
to my dec servers (700)..
