Hi Managers,

1) Tru64 5.1, ADVFS 2) TRU64 4.0D, UFS

I am trying to rdump from server 2 to server1 and am getting
permission denied errors:
$>rdump -0f server1:/dev/ntape/tape0 /dev/rz11c

rcmd: socket: Permission denied
rcmd: socket: Permission denied
rdump: Cannot establish connection to remote rmt command
rmthost(): rcmd(): Permission denied
Terminated

I have tried it as different users that have not problem using rlogin.
The hosts.equiv and .rhosts files all seem correct. I have had no
problems in the past using rdump from server 1 to server 2 but the
tape drive on that machine has just gone south. Does the socket error
mean I have a missing services entry? Has anyone seem this before.
Thanx in advance.
Dp.
