desktop login problem

Hi

I have lost the ability to desktop login as an ordinary user on a
server. However, for the same user account, command line login still
works (via the Options dropdown menu), as does login from a machine on the
PC network via Xterm. I can still do a desktop login as root. This
applies to all the slave machines on the NIS network as well as the
master. I've tried rolling back to a previous copy of the yppasswd file,
but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've tried changing the
yppasswd for this user account, and the new passwords are accepted without
problems, but still no desktop login.

I'm running 5.1B on an Alphastation 255.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Derek
