We are re-ip'ing our cluster nodes, but retaining the same mnemonics. OS
is T64 v5.1a.
The docs describe:
*Changing the cluster IP address
* involves simply changing /etc/hosts and rebooting nodes one at
a time
*Changing the member name, IP address, or Cluster interconnect address
* involves removing node from cluster, adding back in with new
name/IP/interconnect address for each node, one at a time.
I'm very confused as to which would apply to what in our case. Here's
our scenario:
Node 1: firstnode-maint.domain.com - 1.2.3.4 - change to 5.6.7.8
(CNAME: firstnode.domain.com - this is the "Hostname" shown in
clu_get_info)
firstnode-app.domain.com - 2.3.4.5 - change to 6.7.8.9
firstnode-pvt.domain.com - 3.4.5.6 - change to 7.8.9.10
Node 2: secondnode-maint.domain.com - 2.2.3.4 - change to 6.6.7.8
(CNAME: secondnode.domain.com - this is the "Hostname" shown
in
clu_get_info)
secondnode-app.domain.com - 3.3.4.5 - change to 7.7.8.9
secondnode-pvt.domain.com - 4.4.5.6 - change to 8.8.9.10
As noted, the mnemonics and the CNAMEs are not changing, just the IPs.
* Can I change the ips in /etc/hosts and reboots, or do I need
to do
the remove from cluster/re-add to cluster scenario?
Huge TIA,
