Hi Managers,

I have a DS20 with a strange problem suddenly crop up. About a week old
installation of 5.1a and SRM upgrade to v6.5. I was the only one logged
on and downloading the new patch kit when my terminal suddenly stopped
responding. I checked the machine, and the console has no output, the
little LCD screen shows nothing, and the power light and all the hard
disks are flashing at the rate of 2-3 times a second. Reset has no
affect. Turning it off, waiting a bit, and turning it back on, I get
different results. Sometimes random disks flash; sometimes I get a the
"Compaq" words come up on the LCD, then the spinning "|" for a little bit,
then suddenly the screen is all "|||||||||||||||"; sometimes it gets to
blue screen before it blanks out; then finally it booted up.

I stepped out, to come back to the flashing power and hard disk lights.
Now turning it off, and turning it back on, I just get flashing lights,
and no other changes in symptoms. LCD has no outputs, console has no
output. It just starts flashing, as soon as the power is on. Doesn't
even test firmware, memory, or CPU.

A week ago, the root disk did fail, which I replaced and reinstalled the
operating system. I have tried to reseat the hard disks while the power
was off.

Help!
