We've just migrated to a new HP Alpha box running Tru64 5.1B. In preparing
for the migration I updated our version of procmail to the latest and
greatest version, 3.22. The sendmail version is 8.11.1. Our former Alpha
box had a much older version of both sendmail (pre-8.6) and procmail so I
had to make changes to do the new installation including modifying
src/authenticate.c and setting MAILSPOOLHOME to "/mail/INBOX" so the
default mailbox is ~user/mail/INBOX since this isn't handled by
/etc/procmailrc anymore.
I modified sendmail.cf to include this:
Mlocal, P=/usr/local/bin/procmail, F=SAw5:|/_at_glDFMPhsfn, S=10/40, R=20/50,
T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix,
A=procmail -Y -a $h -d $u
What baffles me is that some mail is delivered to ~user/mail/INBOX and some
goes to /usr/spool/mail/user. It doesn't seem to execute /etc/procmailrc
anymore either. Has anyone else run into a situation like this? I have
mail piling up where it doesn't belong and I need to get this resolved
quickly. Thanks.
