We have recently done a clean install of Tru64 5.1a on a DS10. After a few
configuration changes (including a non-setld upgrade to sendmail 8.12.6),
I've realized that I need OS patch 1830 to be able to get the soclose() fix.
When I applied aggregate summary 5, patch 1830 failed on sendmail.
Problem installing:
- Tru64_UNIX_V5.1A / Security Related Patches:
Patch 01830.00 - Security (SSRT2301, SSRT0845U, SSRT2266, SSRT2322)
./sbin/init.d/sendmail:
does not exist on your system,
however, it is in the inventory of installed subsets.
This patch will not be installed.
I have tried re-creating /sbin/init.d/sendmail but I then receive the
following error, which I assume has to do with the inode of the new sendmail
script.
Problem installing:
- Tru64_UNIX_V5.1A / Security Related Patches:
Patch 01830.00 - Security (SSRT2301, SSRT0845U, SSRT2266, SSRT2322)
./sbin/init.d/sendmail:
its origin can not be identified.
This patch will not be installed.
Is there some way I can get the soclose() fix I need without applying patch
1830? I would like to avoid a baseline reinstall of sendmail from the OS
CDs (which would mung my updated sendmail configuration). Or (and I would
prefer this) is there some way I can get sendmail out of my setld inventory
without having to do setld -d (setld, I assume, would mung my updated
sendmail configuration)?
Thank you,
